How Motorcycle AC & DC CDI Works
A CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) stores energy in a capacitor and releases it to the ignition coil at the correct timing — coil generates high voltage for spark plug to ignite air-fuel mixture.
AC CDI and DC CDI work on the same principle but differ in power source.
